LISW

🎶 Anxiety, keep on trying me I feel it quietly, tryna silence me, yeah

My anxiety, can't shake it off of me

Somebody's watchin' me, it’s my anxiety (Ooh, la-da, woah) 🎶

What does anxiety look like to you? Or better yet, what does it look like when you’re having an unhealthy mental experience? Does it look like the new mom that can’t seem to cope with her new norm and is experiencing postpartum depression? Or the person that can’t seem to get rid of that overwhelming worrisome thought and feeling so they rarely speak up or feel heard?

Markia Boone is a Licensed Social Worker with 8 years of experience working in school social work, youth outpatient mental health, adult inpatient and outpatient mental health, family service coordination, and public health social work. She also has experience in youth mentoring services through a non-profit mentoring program that she founded.

Markia specializes in postpartum depression, anxiety, and self-esteem/confidence building. She also has experience in treating those that struggle with depression, PTSD, grief/loss, work/life balance, relationship issues and trauma.

Markia has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Social Work from Bowling Green State University and The Ohio State University. She is currently working to obtain her Independent Social Work License (LISW).

Markia’s goal is to provide a safe haven for those that feel they are traveling on their mental health journey alone. Her clients will be surrounded by a welcoming aura of acceptance, understanding, compassion and empathy, while being uplifted and equipped with the skills needed to succeed on their journey moving forward.

As a Tiktok trend once stated “I listen and I don’t judge”.
