Dawn Swartz

Clinical Director & Counselor/Therapist

Dawn is a licensed social worker and licensed professional clinical counselor who received her BA in both psychology and social work from Cleveland State University and her MA in professional counseling from Liberty University. She holds a chemical dependency credential which allows her to provide treatment to those struggling with addiction. Dawn is also licensed to provide supervision for those seeking licensure as a counselor. 

 

Dawn has worked as a counselor at The Nord Center and the Center for Effective Living, Inc. providing individual counseling and mental health assessments for both children and adults. Additionally, Dawn has previous work experience as a medical social worker working with geriatric patients providing end of life care and providing services for dually diagnosed individuals. 

 

Dawn is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy and EMDR to treat those suffering from sexual assault/military trauma and has completed training to better address the needs of military service members and their families. She has special interests in working with individuals struggling with grief issues and post-traumatic stress disorder. 

 

Dawn uses an eclectic approach to therapy based on the preferences and diagnosis of the individual and feels passionate about addressing the holistic needs of each person (mind, body and spirit).
